A beginner-friendly overview of roulette at Korean casinos: how the game works, roulette-only play chips, bet types from red/black and even/odd to a single number, payouts and how a game works, based on the game guide on Paradise Casino's official website.
Roulette is a game where you guess which number on the spinning wheel the dealer's ball will land on. You join simply by placing chips anywhere you like on the numbers printed on the table.
This article sums up the rules and how to bet, based on the game guide on Paradise Casino's official website (checked on September 29, 2026). Wheel types and payouts may differ by table, so follow the sign at the table where you play and the staff's instructions. This article explains the rules only. It is not a way to win.
Roulette uses its own play chips
Several people bet at the same roulette table, so each person uses play chips of a different color to show whose chips are whose. According to the official guide, you exchange your money chips for play chips to play, and change them back into money chips when you finish. For chip types and currency exchange, see Korean casino chips and currency exchange.
Types of bets and payouts
Bets fall into two groups: "outside bets," which cover a wide range, and "inside bets," which cover a few specific numbers. The narrower the range, the bigger the payout. The multipliers in the tables below convert the payout notation in the official guide (for example, 1:35) into how many times your bet is paid.

Outside bets (covering a wide range)
| Bet | What it covers | Payout |
|---|---|---|
| Color bet | Red or black | Same amount as your bet |
| Even / Odd | Even or odd numbers | Same amount as your bet |
| Low / High | 1–18 or 19–36 | Same amount as your bet |
| Dozen bet | One of 1–12, 13–24 or 25–36 | 2x |
| Column bet | A vertical column of 12 numbers | 2x |
The official guide explains that red/black and even/odd are divided among the numbers "excluding 0 and 00." If the ball lands on 0 or 00, these bets do not win.
Inside bets (covering specific numbers)
| Bet | What it covers | Payout |
|---|---|---|
| Straight bet | One number | 35x |
| Split bet | Two neighboring numbers | 17x |
| Street bet | Three numbers in one horizontal row | 11x |
| Corner bet | Four numbers meeting at a corner | 8x |
| Five-number bet | The five numbers 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3 | 6x |
| Line bet | Six numbers in two horizontal rows | 5x |
According to the guide, if you want to bet on the same spot as someone else, you stack your chips on top of theirs.
How a game works
- Place your chips when the dealer invites bets. You can keep betting even while the ball is spinning, until the dealer says "No More Bets"
- When the ball stops, the dealer calls out the winning number and places a marker on that number on the table
- Losing chips are collected first, and then winning chips are paid
- Do not place chips for the next bet until all payouts are finished

Summary
Roulette is a game where you place chips on the number or color you think the ball will land on. Wide bets such as red/black hit more often but pay less, and the fewer numbers you cover, the bigger the payout. Wheel types and payouts may differ by table, so check the table sign and staff instructions before you sit down.
