We calculated the house edge (the percentage of your bet you lose on average) for Baccarat, Blackjack, Roulette, Sic Bo and Three Card Poker from the official payouts and put them in one table. We also show how much Sic Bo bets differ, plus some fun probabilities.

Every casino game is designed so that, on average, your money slowly goes down the longer you play. That rate of loss is called the house edge (the casino's share). In this article, the CASINO PASSPORT editorial team calculated the house edge of each game from the payouts listed in the casino's official game guide and put them in one table. This page is the starting point for CASINO PASSPORT's articles on probability.

This article is not a way to win. Even a bet with a small house edge loses money on average. The payouts are taken from Paradise Casino's official game guide (confirmed in October 2026) and may differ at other casinos or tables. Check the sign on the table before you sit down.

What is the house edge?

It is the percentage of the amount you bet that you lose on average. For example, if you bet KRW 10,000 at a time, 100 times, on a bet with a 1% house edge, you bet KRW 1,000,000 in total, and on average you lose about KRW 10,000. Actual results go up and down with luck, but the more you play, the closer you get to this average.

If you want to calculate it with your own bet size and playing time, use the casino budget calculator. It uses the same house edge figures as this quick reference table.

Paradise Casino's official guide describes roulette as played on a wheel with 0 and 00. The type of wheel at other casinos and tables needs to be checked on site.

In Sic Bo, the house edge varies widely by bet

In Sic Bo, even at the same table, the house edge ranges widely from about 2.8% to about 33% depending on the bet. For example, among the Total bets, 7 or 14 (pays 12 to 1) has a house edge of about 9.7%, while 4 or 17 (pays 50 to 1) is about 29.2%, and 9 or 12 (pays 6 to 1) is about 19.0%. The house edge is not decided by how big the payout is, but by the gap between the probability and the payout.

9 or 126 to 1approx. 19.0%
10 or 116 to 1approx. 12.5%

Fun probabilities worth knowing

  • In Sic Bo, the chance that all three dice show the same number (a triple) is about 2.8% per roll (1 in 36). When this happens, Big/Small and Odd/Even bets lose
  • In roulette (0 and 00), the chance of the same number coming up twice in a row is about 2.6% (1 in 38). The chance of red coming up 5 times in a row is about 2.4% (about 2.7% on a wheel with a single 0)
  • In baccarat, a streak of 6 or more Banker wins within one shoe happens about 46% of the time, so it is not unusual. Even so, it does not change the probability of the next result
  • In blackjack, the chance that your first two cards make a blackjack is about 4.7% (about 1 in 21)

What is not included in this table

Slot Machines and Electronic Table Games (ETG) are not included, because the payout rate of each machine is not published on the official websites. Texas Hold'em Poker, where players compete against each other, is not covered because the casino earns its share in a different way. Caribbean Stud Poker is not included this time, because calculating the best decision for every combination of player and dealer hands requires a very large amount of computation. Seven Luck Poker and Casino War are not included, because we could not confirm on the official websites the payouts and rules needed for the calculation.

Summary

The house edge ranges widely, from about 0.5% to about 33%, depending on the game and the bet. Every bet loses money on average, and the more you play, the closer your losses get to this rate. Decide in advance how much money and time you will spend (how to plan your budget for a Korean casino), and enjoy yourself within that limit. The 8 casinos covered on this site are for foreign visitors only (Korean nationals are not admitted) and are open to visitors aged 19 and over.

How we calculated: payouts are from Paradise Casino's official game guide. Baccarat was calculated from every combination in 8 decks; blackjack with an approximation that treats the deck as never running out of cards (8 decks for the pair bet and insurance); Three Card Poker from every combination; and Sic Bo and roulette from the number of possible outcomes (CASINO PASSPORT editorial team, October 2026).
